APPLIED FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS
General Information
Applied Functional Analysis is to be understood as a
branch of Mathematical Analysis that deals with problems intersecting at least
one of the following topics: approximation theory, analysis on the sphere, the
theory of positive definite and related kernels, integral operators, Mercer's theory.
The group of Applied Functional Analysis at ICMC
focuses its research to theoretical aspects of the problems and has little
interest on the computational and numerical aspects of them. The research is
centered in problems which are relevant in applications in either the Mathematics
itself or other areas.
